Turkish Airlines flight diverted over bomb threat

Posted by admin

A Turkish Airlines flight en route to Sao Paulo has declared an emergency following a bomb threat and landed at Casablanca airport, a spokeswoman for the airline said.

The flight, TK15, had departed from Istanbul on Monday and landed in the Moroccan city after a note was found warning there was a “bomb” in one of the aircraft toilets.

The communications office at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca confirmed that the flight had landed there.

Turkish Airlines said it was standard procedure to make an emergency landing under such circumstances.

The AFP news agency said the Boeing 777, carrying 256 people, was evacuating passengers and a search was underway to find any explosives.
